(71) Al-Muqaddim Beautiful Names of our Rabb From 100 Names Of Allah
Al-Muqaddim
Meaning - The Expeditor, The Promoter.
Allah is Al-Muqaddim, The One Who promotes certain events and certain people over others as per His infinite wisdom.
There is an interesting story for us to learn from the Holy Quran about Prophet Moosa (PBUH) when he was asked by someone from a congregation of the children of Israel (Bani Israel) to whom he (PBUH) was giving a sermon. The question was - "Who is the most learned one?"
Assuming that Allah (SWT) has blessed Prophet Moosa (PBUH) with Torah and miracles, he (PBUH) assumed he is the one and he replied -
"I am the most learned one." However, Allah Al Muqaddim revealed to Prophet Moosa (PBUH) that there is a servant of Allah (SWT) who is more learned than Prophet Moosa (PBUH). Prophet Moosa (PBUH) sat on a journey to meet and learn from this learned man whom scholars call as Khidr (a.s).
The meeting of Prophet Moosa (PBUH) and Khidr (a.s) is mentioned in Surah Kahf in the Holy Quran which narrates the three incidents which angered Prophet Moosa (PBUH) and he rebuked Khidr (a.s) as those all three incidents seem apparently evil. But when Khidr (a.s) told the wisdom behind all those actions he had carried out because of the special knowledge which Allah Al Muqaddim had blessed him with then Prophet Moosa (PBUH) realized that how good those actions were in reality which he was considering as otherwise.
This story teaches us many lessons to reflect upon -
We should never assume that we are the most learned one as we don't know whom Allah Al Muqaddim has promoted and excelled in knowledge.
We should be humble enough to learn from those who are learned like Prophet Moosa (PBUH) embarked on the journey to meet Khidr (a.s) to learn.
We should understand that Allah is Al-Muqaddim, The Expeditor, The One Who promotes some people over others and some events over others and all this should not make us feel bad or low because we don't know and we can never comprehend His amazing wisdom behind the apparently seeming bad events. In other words, we should understand that we have only a pixel while He has the whole picture.
We, as servants of Allah Al Muqaddim, should keep ourselves humble and should always strive with sincerity for what we are asked to strive for by Him and we should never get carried away by the circumstances and things that are beyond our comprehension.
May Allah Al Muqaddim make us humble, ready to learn from others, and make us among those who are chosen by Him. Ameen.
(72) Al-Muakhkhir Beautiful Names of our Rabb From 100 Names Of Allah
Al-Muakhkhir
Meaning - The Delayer.
Recently! I came across some people who were quite anxious over the delays in their careers and marriages, which has further been fuelled by the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus.
They often have a feeling of being good for nothing, as their aspirations got upside down, and being at home largely and mostly because of the circumstances caused by the pandemic. They are often carried away by the chain of negative thoughts and they feel anxious about their upcoming life, be it career or marriage.
The delay has impeded and obstructed their thought processes to such an extent that they are often in doubt about their being worthy of anything progressive.
We need to understand that one of the beautiful attributes of Allah is Al Muakhkhir - The Delayer.
If there is a delay (ta'kheer) in your life plans then glorify Him and remember that the apparently seeming hard test in the form of delays might be a blessing in disguise for you.
Yes! A test it can be on the parameters that how you react to the circumstances and people around you and how you connect with Allah Al Muakhir.
And
It is a blessing in disguise in the form that - you have one of the most valued possession right now with you and that is “free time”, which is so valued that even our Rabb Allah has taken an oath by it in Surah Al-Asr.
Have faith, and Allah will bless you with a good spouse and a good career, but at the same time relish the delay by Al Muakhkhir and utilize this precious time by coming close to Him, by reflecting upon the Holy Quran as it ought to be, by learning Quranic Arabic for which you might not find time afterwards, by working on your personality and developing it, by reading good books and by being enlightened enough to be capable to lift other struggling people in the pandemic by giving them hope and not by being pessimistic, lost and forlorn.
Allah is Al Muakhkhir - The Delayer, He (SWT) delays a thing or event or even the accountability of the tyrants for some time due to His infinite wisdom.
Allah Al Muakhkhir checks His creation that how we react to the delay, are we among those who lose hope and despair, or are we among those who know that the delay must be a cause of ajr (reward) by Him despite putting all efforts from our side.
The delay is a sign of His mercy as well, many times the wrongdoers are given respite by delaying their punishments so that they might reflect and repent but if they don't then it doesn't mean that we allow the delay in their respite to be the cause of our depression or the cause of nurturing evil opinions about Allah ta'aala. We should always remember that His vengeance is severe and He gives respite only for a limited term.
"Do not think (O Prophet) that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them until a Day when (their) eyes will stare in horror—"
(Holy Qur'an, 14:42)
We need to glorify Allah with this beautiful attribute Al Muakhkhir and we should put our trust in Him, The Best Disposer of all affairs.
(73) Al-Awwal Beautiful Names of our Rabb From 100 Names Of Allah
Al-Awwal
Meaning - The First.
Al-Awwal Himself says in the Holy Qur'an-
"He is The First (Al Awwal) and
The Last, The Most High and Most Near, and He has (perfect) knowledge of all things."
(Holy Qur'an 57:03)
We need to glorify our Rabb with this beautiful attribute of Al Awwal and we should check ourselves who is the first in our lives?
Who comes to mind first when we are in trouble to seek help from or who is the first one to whom we are grateful for when we are at ease?
Who is the one in our lives who is the first and foremost in our priorities?
Who is awwal (first) in our life, our thoughts, or about whom we think of when we first wake up in the morning?
Is it Allah Al Awwal - The First or is it His creation (makhlooq, which is made up of dust) whom we have made awwal (first) in our lives?
Are we among those who are saabiqoon (the first to respond to Him)?
It is mentioned in Surah Waaqiah, chapter 56 from ayah 7 to 11 that we all will be in three groups on the day of resurrection-
- As'haab ul maymanati
(أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ)
Companions of the right, their record will be given in their right hand - they will enter Paradise.
The second group will be - As'haab ul mash'amati -
(أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ)
The companions of the left whose record will be given in their left hand, they will be miserable as they will enter hell.
The last and the best group will be of those who used to be the first in responding to the call of Allah Al Awwal, they will be few in numbers as compared to the companions of the right and they will be the nearest to Allah Al Awwal as they used to be the first, the foremost and the forerunners in Allah Al Awwal's obedience, they will be called As Saabiqoon - ٱلسَّـٰبِقُون
They (As Saabiqoon) will be the ones nearest to Allah ta'aala
(أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُون)
May Allah Al Awwal make us among those who are rightly guided and for whom Allah is Al Awwal in all aspects of their lives. Ameen.
(74) Al-Aakhir Beautiful Names of our Rabb From 100 Names Of Allah
Al-Aakhir
Meaning - The Last, The Endless.
Allah Al Aakhir says in Surah 55 of the Qur'an, Ayah 26-27
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
(Every being on earth is bound to perish).
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
(Only your Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honour, will remain).
We should try our best to please our Rabb, Who is Al Aakhir and Who will remain forever, we should try to reflect upon this beautiful hadees -
"Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him. Whoever is averse to meeting Allah, Allah is averse to meeting him."
We need to carry out our deeds to please The One Who will remain forever and is Al Aakhir and we should avoid making the perishable beings of this glittering and deceptive world as the nucleus of our life.
We should glorify our Rabb with this beautiful attribute and should ask Allah Al Aakhir to bless us with a good end - "Allahumma inni asaluka husnal khaatimah – O Allah, I ask You for a good end to my life."
Ameen
(75) Az-Zaahir Beautiful Names of our Rabb From 100 Names Of Allah
Az-Zaahir
Meaning - The Apparent, The Evident, The Manifest.
Allah Az Zaahir has made this evident and manifests in the creation all around us and within ourselves that there is One Supreme Being, The Creator, and this life is not a coincidence or an accident as claimed by atheists (the ones who deny the existence of God).
Allah Az Zaahir says in the Qur'an-
"Have they not then looked at the sky above them: how We built it and adorned it ˹with stars˺, leaving it flawless?
As for the earth, We spread it out and placed upon it firm mountains, and produced in it every type of pleasant plant
˹all as˺ an insight and a reminder to every servant who turns ˹to Allah˺.
And We send down blessed rain from the sky, bringing forth gardens and grains for harvest and towering palm trees ˹loaded˺ with clustered fruit ˹as˺ a provision for ˹Our˺ servants. And with this ˹rain˺ We revive a lifeless land. Similar is the emergence ˹from the graves˺."
(Holy Qur'an 50:6-11)
"Have they not seen the birds above them, spreading and folding their wings? None holds them up except The Most Compassionate. Indeed, He is All-Seeing of everything."
(Holy Quran 67:19)
"Indeed, Allah is the One Who causes seeds and fruit stones to sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That is Allah! How can you then be deluded ˹from the truth˺?
He causes the dawn to break and has made the night for rest and ˹made˺ the sun and the moon ˹to travel˺ with precision. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing.
And He is the One Who has made the stars as your guide through the darkness of land and sea. We have already made the signs clear for people who know.
And He is the One Who originated you all from a single soul, then assigned you a place to live and another to ˹be laid to˺ rest. We have already made the signs clear for people who comprehend."
(Holy Qur'an 6:95-98)
"Surely, in the alternation of night and day and in what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth, there are signs for people who are pious."
(Holy Qur'an 10:06)
"Those who remember Allah, standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and earth: “Our Lord, You have not created this for nothing. Glory be to You! So safeguard us from the punishment of the Fire."
(Holy Qur'an 3:191)
SubhanAllah! Allah Az Zaahir has made it all zaahir (apparent, evident) in signs around us and within us and if we are still unable to see His signs which are manifested in each and everything around us, even in phenomena as simple as alternation of day and night, in the revival of dead barren lands and in the creation of heavens and earth, then surely it is not the eyes which are blind but the hearts as they are not reflecting upon the light (guidance).
"The fact is that it is not the eyes that turn blind, but what turns blind are the hearts contained in the chests."
(Holy Qur'an 22:46)
It is a mercy of Allah Az Zaahir that He has not only manifested the signs all around us but also has made it clear that He (subhanahu wa ta'aala) has given us a deen and it will prevail,
manifest (لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ from the same root word of Az Zaahir) over all the other deen.
"It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the deen of truth to manifest it over all deen, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it."
(Holy Qur'an 9:33)
We should glorify our Rabb with this beautiful attribute of Az Zaahir and we should stick to His deen as it is the only way of living life, and it will eventually be manifested with its beauty of truth and justice upon every other deen (ideologies) present in the contemporary world despite all the propaganda and tools they use to malign it.
